Status: Early days.

Due to the slow demise of text based games and my passion for the new flashy of "massively multiplayer online" games, I have begun work on Mysteria III - an online 3D game engine. It is early days yet on the project, however I have built a toolkit whereby one can raise/lower and paint textures onto a seamless landscape which is dynamically loaded and unloaded in a background thread. This allows for a virtually limitless world size (how big's a hard drive?) with no zoning as you move about.

The next big step is in building a server which will allow multiple "wizard" characters to walk about and create the world online "MUD-style", so work is instantly transmitted to the server, and pushed out to the other clients - I plant a tree and the tree appears next to you. I lower the land into the water, you get wet (especially useful on hawt elf chicks)...

Anyway, that's the mischief I'm up to. Mysteria 1+2 (the MUD engines) are no longer maintained by me.



I am using the Truevision 3D SDK for the base 3D engine (C#/Windows Based).
